it’s amazing to find a space that is set up to answer my questions? i have lots. lets start with my father was harsh, my mother weak, my husbands a jerk, and i’m an addict. i’m looking for my higherpower but unconvinced why i need to do that to fix any of these facts? why would i want another posturing power in my life? i need help handling my life, not more rules and regulations and shoulds and can’ts.
Alicia, thanks for your transparency. So many people hide their realities and so aren’t dealing with them and fixing them. I’ve been told that recognizing a problem is 90% of fixing it! I’m sorry that you see God as a posturing power handing out rules and regulations. You are not alone, and probably number with most people. But I am 100% certain that this is not God’s desire. God loves you and desires so much to have a relationship with you and help you that He came down here and experienced humanity (to be able to relate) and died the atoning death required (to enable relationship) 2000 years ago. God wants to love on you and help you overcome all the challenges in your life. I know many people for whom God is their higher power and who have overcome very serious issues in their lives with Her help. I hope you’ll get God for Everyone and read it, and see if you don’t want to join them letting God help you with your challenges. Life is pretty unbearable alone. Life is amazing with God actively participating in it. Please get the free resources to the right and see if those don’t help you move forward too. You are in my prayers.
